Working under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the *Lead Custodian* is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Housing Matters multiple buildings and grounds, including the Rebele Family Shelter, the Day Services Center, and the Recuperative Care Center, and supports management by overseeing the day to day custodial operations.

* *The custodian *is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, eligible for medical, dental, vision, 403b, and our generous PTO plan.
* *Regularly scheduled shifts* will be Saturday through Wednesday, 1pm - 9pm.

Preferred Experience/ Education Requirements*
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Previous experience in house
* Ability to speak English fluently required.
* Previous cleaning and maintenance experience in a shelter, commercial, clinical or healthcare environment preferred.
* Blood Borne Pathogens training certification preferred (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
*Special Requirements*
* Requires Regular standing, walking, sitting, crouching, stooping, and communication.
* Requires frequent lifting, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting objects and operating equipment.
* Requires ability to lift 60 lbs.

Thorough knowledge of:*
* Standard cleaning and safety procedures
* Methods, materials and techniques used for custodial work
* Operating and caring for custodial supplies and equipment
* Safety and PPE standards

Typical Job Duties:*
* Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility and in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations or law.
* Follow organization policy and procedures in order to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
* Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.
* Maintain and restock adequate cleaning and general supplies for department/unit uses.
Properly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shift.
* Routinely practice infection control measures.
* Oversee the day-to-day custodial operations for the facility, and provide training to team members when needed.
* Takes inventory of supplies and purchases orders as appropriate.
* Assists with custodial schedule; makes adjustments using google sheets and communicates changes to custodian team.
* Assist Facilities Manager and Maintenance Technician with room turnover and pallet shelter turnover
* Clean bathrooms, offices, and rooms/pallets as needed
* Clean windows, sweep and mop floors pick up trash on Housing Matters grounds and surrounding areas
* Operate compactor/ take out trash
* Operate carpet cleaning machine
* Operate power washing machine
* Perform light maintenance repairs as directed by Facilities Manager
* Utilize appropriate PPE
* Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions
