SUMMARY: Cook will assist in planning, storing, preparing, serving and cleaning-up of all food in a safe and healthful manner.
The diet and food service shall be of the quality and quantity necessary to meet the needs of the residents and the daily Recommended Dietary Allowances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
Duties will be performed in a culturally competent manner, will provide services to all residents without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, age, sex, religion, and handicap or payment status.
Duties
Follow a weekly menu, making adjustments as needed.
Prepare and serve three nutritious meals and three snacks per day.
Implement principles of good nutrition, food preparation, food storage, food service and menu planning as defined by Title 9, ServSafe and other applicable regulations.
Provide physician prescribed diets.
Provide tray service in case of temporary need for a resident.
Follow food service sanitation practices and personal hygiene.
Ensure kitchen equipment cleanliness, up-keep and regular maintenance.
Follow and perform the Cook Duties Checklist.
Use equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures and uses appropriate safeguards in all on-the-job activities.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting and Documentation
Mandated to report any suspected abuse of dependent adults and elders directly to manager, Law Enforcement, Adult Protective Services, or Patients Rights Advocate.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED; or experience may be required.
Knowledge
Use and maintenance of adaptive devices for residents self-help in eating.
Principles of nutrition, menu planning, ServSafe; food preparation, service and storage.
Knowledge and conformity to all applicable HIPAA, OSHA, state and local laws, rules and regulations including Department of Health Care Services, and Title 9.
