*Job purpose*
Creating redundancy and support with staff is necessary to operate 365 days a year without fail.
Forming skills that allow the ability to be integrated in all areas of the business is vital to success.
The goal is to create continuity of work between operators on days where there is a transfer of responsibilities.
This is done by maintaining strong communication with other team members and focusing on each department in cultivation even while management is handling tasks.
This is a position that plays lead and support roles in nearly all areas of the business.
*Duties and responsibilities* * Playing a support role in all departments inside the company.
* Having the ability to independently handle cloning, transplanting, plant training/trellising, pest management and watering.
When handling any of these tasks they are to be done after communication to management and/or the lead cultivator.
* Set up work the materials needed for tasks; creating cloning stations, harvest prep, transplants, cleaning, reservoir mixing.
* Communicating to lower cultivators, and organizing the sanitation of all grow rooms.
Ensure employees tasked with cleaning are following proper procedures * Run lead on resetting rooms after harvest.
Utilize the checklist created by management to ensure all tasks are completed before new crops enter the room.
* Supplement hand water along with automation in flowering rooms ensuring correct moisture content with close attention being paid to the growing needs of the plant.
To repeat, strong communication to management required to perform this task correctly * Observe the quality work of the other team members and improve productivity with new recruits.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTIONS/MISTAKES OF LOWER CULTIVATORS.
* Ensure we are compliant at all times by tagging plants, reporting waste, updating plant counts.
* Check ALL mechanical & environmental controls daily including dehumidifiers, humidifiers and wall/floor fans, and sensors.
If the discovery of faulty equipment is noticed either replace immediately or report to management.
* Provide training and guidance to lower cultivators *Required Skills for Cultivator Level 2* * Cloning proficiently and at an efficient pace * Choosing proper branches to remove from mature plants for cloning * Ability to: * reset dry clones under direction from Nursery Specialist/Lead Cultivator * Water Vegging plants as directed by Nursery Specialist * Give Supplemental Watering for Flowering Plants * select healthiest plants for Flowering with guidance from Lead Cultivator/ Nursery specialist * Providing accurate plant counts, instruct lower cultivators to do proper plant counts * Deleaf, top and clean-up vegging and flowering plants * Mix Reservoirs with correct measurements provided by owner/lead cultivator * Set automated irrigation watering schedules with direction from Lead Cultivator * Set lighting schedules with automated light controllers * Set environmental conditions for rooms with direction * spot pest infestations, including but not limited to bugs, mold, viruses * recognize harmful/ sub optimal environmental conditions * recognize mechanical failure of equipment.
* train new hires and lower staff on proper operating procedures * Strong Communication skills with lead cultivators, Nursery Specialist, and Owners * Strong Management skills for directing Cultivator Level One, and cultivation assistants * Assisting Lead Cultivator in managing all supply levels for growing supplies *Working conditions* Schedules for each team member will be honored and only need adjustment to better support harvest schedules.
Business is conducted Monday – Sunday and the working hours of operations are 9:45 am – 7:00 pm.
Holidays we will observed with minimal input from staff to satisfy opening and closing responsibilities.
*Physical requirements* Certain days require longer hours and are more physically demanding.
Individuals must be fit enough to perform all responsibilities during transplanting, harvesting and cleaning facility.
*Direct reports* All issues, and other important information is to be brought immediately to Lead Cultivator’s and/or Owner’s attention.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.
00 - $25.
00 per hour Schedule: * 10 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Holidays * Monday to Friday * Overtime * Weekends as needed Experience: * Indoor Cultivation: 3 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: * Santa Cruz, CA (Preferred) Work Location: Multiple locations
