Position Summary Reporting to the Site Quality Manager with dotted line to the Director of North American Plant Sanitation, the Sanitation Manager will be responsible for maintaining a clean facility and clean production equipment.
The Sanitation Manager will focus on cleaning and sanitizing equipment and production areas to eliminate microbial contamination.
They will also train and supervise the Sanitation Crew’s on how to effectively clean and sanitize production equipment with focus on food contact areas.
The ideal candidate understands and effectively uses all sanitation equipment and chemicals that support line sanitation.
They will emphasize the values of trust, integrity, and respect during all communications within the organization and drive consistent roll out of the global QMS and initiatives Position Responsibilities Responsibilities will include working with the site to identify/ monitor/ correct and eliminate sanitation program gaps.
This will require working in multifunctional teams at site to conduct risk assessments and develop action plans to support global policies and/or plant events.
The S&PM Lead will build the Integrated Pest Management program across site and warehouses.
They will ensure to maintain effective working relationships across all functions ensuring Sanitation and Pest management is owned by all.
Additional responsibilities include the following: Execute and ensure compliance to the cleaning schedules and sanitation of production equipment, including breaking down, cleaning, and reassembly of general manufacturing lines.
Perform established work practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), and any associated documentation.
Develop new work practices and standard operating procedures to improve equipment cleaning and sanitation.
Collect pre and post sanitation zone 1 swabs to verify cleaning effectiveness.
Oversee the Environmental Monitoring Program and collect weekly EMP swabs.
Assist in building integrated pest management at the site-level.
Provide support to our Microbiology laboratory.
Provide specialized training and development for the sanitation team and new hires.
Maintain sanitation and environmental monitoring documentation.
Trending of sanitation results, environmental monitoring swabs, zone one swabs and ensure proactive management of issues.
Develop a focused engaged Sanitation Team at the site Deliver effective sanitation tools and support to the site Ensure effective execution of the ofi Quality and Food Safety policies and standards.
Drive compliance to Lead Sanitation KPI’s Support the broader Q&FS program as required Ensure a voice at the table for hygienic design of new lines or equipment Ability to impact the broader Q&FS agenda at site Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred areas of focus inclusive of Biology, Engineering, Food Science Technology or Microbiology with Food Safety background.
6+ years of experience applying broad technical knowledge of quality and food safety in a food manufacturing environment; including sanitation and food safety Experience in sanitation of a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
Leadership ability to effectively lead the Sanitation Crew to complete assigned tasks.
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, risk assessment and corrective action Proven ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure is required.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment is required.
PCQI, HACCP and Internal Auditor certificates are preferred.
Required to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
Proven ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with each member of the organization is required.
Knowledge of sanitation process and procedures are required.
The pay for this role in the state of XX ranges from $84 - $110k and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
