This forces the city and your neighbors to be "reasonable" in any complaints against your use of the building.

However, you can live in it under certain circumstances (like Fair Housing situations- see below- are you the type of person to ask for forgiveness? Or permission?) If you are looking for a "permanent" structure that will meet code, under the new "ADU - accessory dwelling unit" rules, we are starting to offer those, as well, using a new building method.
The cost is much, much higher, because you are building a house, even though it's "tiny.

About the panels these are made from- these are made of painted steel sheets with 3 inches of foam insulation in the middle, like an oreo cookie.
These are for making buildings and even walk-in freezers.
They are very strong and long lasting.
People have bought these for offices, play rooms, Airbnb, extra bedrooms, and a place for Mom.
You CAN rent it out if you understand how to apply the Fair Housing Act, and care-taking is part of the agreement for staying there.
However, understand that without it, you are doing an illegal rental under local code.
I suggest renting out only if you have a person over age 60 living somewhere on your property, or a person even with a partial disability, so you can obtain special accommodation to local housing code.
To illustrate: Example A: Build "temporary" tiny house and rent it for $900 a month.
The city will call this an "illegal rental" if they find out about it (a neighbor complains).
Example B: Build tiny house shed and rent to a student for $900 a month, after paying student to take out trash every week for Mom, who is over age 60, or help with other "activity of daily living.
