Marianne’s Ice Cream is a Santa Cruz landmark, serving the community for over 75 years.
We serve delicious, handmade, super-premium ice cream in our scoop shops, and supply grocery, restaurant and scoop locations across the Santa Cruz and greater Bay area.
Our Shift Leads, play one of the most important roles in engaging our community tradition and the beloved Marianne’s experience for both the team and customers.

As the heart and soul of our store experience, Marianne’s leads do far more than the regular tasks of scooping, counting tips and closing registers.
Your leadership will create the perfect vibe for ice cream magic to happen.

*Essential Job Duties:*
Here are a handful of the things you would do in this role:
* Provide a positive vibe on every shift and motivate the team to be successful
* Ensure the day-to-day needs of our shop(s) and scoopers on your shifts
* Solve problems for customers, for staff and for the other managers/ owners
* Smile lots, scoop lots and give great customer service!
* Lead by example and help train other employees other activities
* Ensure the team has the tools needed to provide excellent service
* Handle cash drawers, staff tips and make sure money is accurate each day.
* Open or Close the shop(s) according to best practices
* Attend regular meetings & trainings with management and ownership team
* Participate in company events and gatherings
Please note: This is an idea of what you’ll be doing regularly but you will be asked to “wear different hats” at times and flexibility and positivity is key!
*Education or Experience:*
* Must be 18 years or older
* Management or leadership experience preferred
* Prior foodservice or retail experience required
* Loves ice cream

*SCHEDULE*
Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.
MUST be able to work daytime hours (Ex.
10am- 5pm or 2pm -7pm)
Schedule may shift due to seasonality and demand.
Holidays must be requested off in advance and you will be required to work some holidays

Marianne’s has 4 scoop shops.
You may be required at times to rotate between the 4 locations.
