As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5+ years of experience in conventional building systems and thorough knowledge of the California Building Code to join our architecture-led construction team.
*Job Description:*
We are currently seeking a dynamic Construction Superintendent to lead our architecture-led construction projects, ensuring adherence to design intent, construction standards, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in conventional building systems, combined with experience in code compliance and construction management, to oversee the successful execution of our architectural designs.
*Responsibilities:*
* Collaborate closely with architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors throughout all phases of construction projects to ensure design intent is maintained and executed effectively.
* Manage and supervise on-site construction activities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of resources, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Implement conventional building systems and construction methodologies that align with architectural design principles and project objectives.
* Ensure compliance with the California Building Code, as well as other relevant regulations, permits, and industry standards, throughout the construction process.
* Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to monitor workmanship, safety practices, and adherence to project specifications and design details.
* Coordinate with project stakeholders to address design modifications, change orders, and other construction-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, RFIs, submittals, and as-built drawings, to track project status and facilitate communication.
* Provide leadership and direction to on-site construction teams, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment focused on safety, quality, and professionalism.
* Act as a liaison between the construction team and the architectural/design team, facilitating communication and resolving conflicts to ensure project success.
* Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in construction technology, materials, and methodologies to enhance project delivery and innovation.
*Requirements:*
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field (preferred).
* Minimum of 5 years of practical experience as a Construction Superintendent, with a focus on conventional building systems and code compliance in California.
* Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building materials.
* Thorough knowledge of the California Building Code and other relevant regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* OSHA certification and familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites across California.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
