We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Laborer to join our team.
This position is expected to work out of our office at 980 State Highway 25 in Gilroy, CA and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Laborer to provide support to one or more facilities.
This role’s main function includes performing various tasks to aid daily operations at the C&D facilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ability to stand and collect material for extended periods of time utilizing both hands with good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
Handle and transport materials (e.
g.
, cement) and equipment (e.
g.
, drills and grinders)
Ability to follow directions and safety procedures and protocols.
Be able to work in close proximity to others while sorting material from either side of the conveyor belt.
Perform various duties, such as litter control around the sites / nearby roads, general cleaning of work areas, and assist with various onsite projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to distinguish between commodities with ease in order separate the material properly.
The work habits to have include reliable transportation, being punctual, and being reliable in order to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations.
The ability to work as a team and work well with others.
Qualifications:
Valid ID to be employed in the US
Language Skill:
Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
Physical Demands:
Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs.
Constant bending and twisting
Frequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sitting
Constant climbing in and out of equipment to grab carts
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday.
Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
