SUMMARY: The Site Services Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment.
This work is completed according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.
The Site Services Technician reports directly into the Manager of Site Services - Maintenance and Repair in NSU's Santa Cruz Office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate hand and power tools of all types: mechanical hoists, core drill, hammer drill, and a variety of other equipment and instruments Assist with site preparation for various repair projects Assist other craft workers when needed Perform general preventative and corrective maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as valve replacement, pump replacement, piping repairs Diagnose problems; perform general mechanical and electrical repairs Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision Work conscientiously and be aware of all safety hazards Available for 24hr alarm response and participate in an on-call rotation.
Be prepared to discuss in a professional manner the progress of repair with employer, client, visitors or regulatory personnel Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Maintain accurate records for gasoline, mileage, timesheets, expenses, etc.
Project a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc.
Possess a general understanding of Water and Wastewater treatment operations Other duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age or older Possess valid US driver’s license 40-hour work week – Monday-Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Must be available to work weekends and holidays as requested Overtime as required Climbing ladders, stairs, etc.
Exposure to all weather conditions Operate a motor vehicle Operate landscape equipment Operate power washer Confined Space Entry – This may be required on occasion after thorough training session provided by NSU Chemical exposure – Training will be provided by NSU for proper handling if needed.
