Margaritaville Capitola is looking for an Executive Chef.
We are a first-class casual restaurant located right on the water in Capitola Village serving freshly prepared Mexican seafood.

Job Description:
- 50+ hours per week, including weekends and holidays
- Detailed oriented, and committed to high food standards & quality control
- Reports to GM, and works closely with the kitchen staff on all operating standards
- Leads kitchen staff to ensure high quality food, with accurate and high quality prep
- Oversee ordering; adjust pars according to level of business
- Report necessary kitchen repairs and maintenance
- Create and implement regulatory systems—scheduling, prep, breaks, temperature regulation, waste accounting, sanitation, attire, cleaning, etc.
- Ensure an organized, clean and safe working environment
- Have clear, effective and professional communication skills, with the ability to diffuse tension and problem solve
- Lead the daily operations of the kitchen
- Hiring and training—oversee and implement training schedule for all new employees
- Be able to jump in to any position if needed
- Food cost control, including weekly inventory
- Refine/create recipes and continually evolve existing menu, as well as create weekly specials.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years executive level or kitchen managerial experience in a high-volume restaurant
- 5+ years line and prep experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Passionate and knowledgeable about food and hospitality.
- Highly energetic with a positive and collaborative management style
- Able to lead and inspire staff during busy and slow times, enjoys coaching and teaching
- Proficient in Excel and Word
-Spanish-speaking a plus
